Our vision is to join with you to see the prayer of Jesus answered.
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me."
// John 17:21
The idea of a Movement Day was first conceived in a conversation between Mac Pier (Founder of the New York City Leadership Center, Tim Keller (pastor and author), and Bob Doll (Market Place leader). They were concerned that the Christian population of New York City was only 1%. Their idea was to bring NY Christian leaders together to address this issue.
The expectation was that 75% of the attendees would be from NY. During that first Movement Day in 2010 the reality was that 75% of attendees were from major cities outside of NY, They recognized that cities throughout the world were facing three common challenges. First the aging of Christianity, then the speed of growth and migration into cities, and finally the division in the church racially and denominationally.
Two DFW leaders (Jeff Warren, pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church, and Mario Zanstra (then CEO of Pine Cove camps) attended that first Movement Day om 2010, After that experience they begin encouraging others to attend. By the third Movement Day in NY in 2013 over 80 Christian leaders from DFW were attending
With the encouragement these DFW leaders, Movement Day in Dallas was launched in 2014 as the first global expansion city of Movement.org to provide a platform for a Unified City through a Unified Church across DFW. In (date) Movement DFW incorporated as It’s own 501C3.
