Our mission is to unite the body of Christ around a common purpose.

Across 7 years of history

Movement|DFW was first conceived in a conversation between Mac Pier, Tim Keller, and Bob Doll. They recognized that cities throughout the world were facing three common challenges. First the aging of Christianity, then the speed of growth and migration into cities, and finally the division in the church racially and denominationally. The first Movement Day Expression took place in Manhattan in 2010 hosted by Movement.org. Four years later, Movement|DFW was launched in 2014 as the first global expansion city of Movement.org to provide a platform for a Unified City through a Unified Church across DFW.

We’ve learned some key lessons:

  • Leadership Matters
  • The right Board has to drive this
  • We have to be locally birthed and owned
  • Trust and relationships are key
  • A unity Gospel movement is needed more than ever

Here’s what we’ve been doing and what people are saying about us:

  • Hosting Annual Movement Day events to highlight “Best Practices” in the City
  • Convening Church, Non-Profit, Business and Young Christian Leaders
  • Driving a positive change to some of the greatest Spiritual and Social issues impacting DFW
  • Jim Denison, CEO, and Founder of Denison Ministries stated this year
    • There isn’t anyone else in the City who could drive a unified Gospel Movement better than Movement|DFW

The Mission & Strategy

The mission of Movement | DFW is to unite the body of Christ around a common purpose in order to achieve measurable progress against the greatest spiritual, social, and humanitarian challenges facing the city while spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the DFW metroplex. Our plan is to convene and collaborate with the faith community from all quadrants of DFW.

The Strategy is to identify like-minded DFW leaders who desire to design, mobilize and invest in a long–term strategy that will impact the City for the sake of the gospel. The result will be the creation of specific plans and actions to accelerate or incubate best practices to address the issues facing the City and to serve as the focus of the combined efforts of hundreds of organizations throughout DFW.

Our Values: the representation of our heart, and who we want to be –

  • Gospel – so that the world will know
  • Relationship – moving with the speed of trust
  • Collaboration – greater impact together
  • Leadership – influence towards change
  • Diversity – utilizing differences

What We Do –

  • Strategically convene and assemble
  • Gather the best research
  • Assess and Identify key role players and address their needs
  • Create collaboratives
  • Accelerate efficiency and effectiveness by sharing best practices
  • Scale best practices and incubate new efforts
  • Introduce and expose strategic National and Global contributors
